2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When you open a page, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data that your browser sends: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and operating system.

This data is needed to deliver the website and to keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a stable and secure website). Log data is deleted by the hosting provider after a short retention period. A data processing agreement is in place with the hosting provider.

3. Contact form

If you use the contact form, the details you enter (name, email address, subject and message) are processed in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a possible contract or job opportunity, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

The form is delivered by the service Web3Forms, which forwards your message to my email inbox. For this purpose the form data is transmitted to Web3Forms’ servers, which may be located outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. Transfers are based on the safeguards provided by the service, such as standard contractual clauses. If you prefer not to use the form, you can email me directly.

Your enquiry is deleted once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligation applies.

The form contains an invisible field and a short time check to stop automated spam. No profile is created and no third-party captcha service is used.

4. Contact by email

If you write to me by email, your message and email address are stored to process your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR, as above.

5. Cookies and local storage

This website does not set cookies. Your browser’s local storage holds one setting on your own device: your choice of light or dark mode. It is not transmitted to me or to anyone else. Storing it is strictly necessary to provide a function you have requested (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG), so no consent banner is required.

6. Fonts, analytics and embedded content

Fonts are stored on this website’s own server; nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or other font services. No analytics tools, advertising pixels or social media plugins are used. Videos are served from this website itself. Links to LinkedIn and other websites are ordinary links: data is only transferred to those services when you click them.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), the right to data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, an email to the address above is enough.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority of the German federal state where you live (Art. 77 GDPR).

8. Changes to this policy
